About Me
I am a third-year Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) student at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have a B.S. in Exercise Science from Northern Kentucky University. I am passionate about helping people find and rediscover what is meaningful to them to live life to the fullest. I live in Northern Kentucky with my husband, Seth, and dog, Winnie. I enjoy being outdoors, being with friends, and exercising.

At the end of each semester, I will create a learning guide to keep track of all information learned in each semester to carry with me to fieldwork and professional practice.

Fieldwork

My goal for fieldwork is to increase my confidence with evaluations, treatment planning, activity analysis, documentation, and clinical reasoning through various settings.

By the end of 6 weeks, my goal is to plan a treatment session and implement an intervention and write a goal and progress note.

Results: I did plan a treatment session independently and implemented the intervention. It was successful. I did write a goal and progress note.

By the end of the weekend, my goal is to assist an individual in at least one ADL activity.​

Results: I assisted one individual with zipping his coat and teaching him effective strategies. He was able to do it independently by the end of the weekend.

Results: I completed multiple transfers to/from different surfaces (bed, w/c, mat table) with supervision from my FWE with correct technique and safety awareness.

Level II ​Fieldwork

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (Outpatient Pediatrics)​

Goal: To become competent in the outpatient pediatric setting and obtain 100% of FWE caseload with supervision.

Results: I achieved competency in a variety of areas: Thomas Center for Down Syndrome Clinic, General development division, interdisciplinary feeding team, and Kelly O'Leary Autism Center. I independently provided evaluations and treatment to patients on my FWE caseload.

Encompass Rehabilitation in Norwood (Inpatient rehabilitation)

Goal: To become a competent therapist and evaluate and treat patients with spinal cord injury, stroke, and brain injury and obtain 100% of FWE​ caseload with supervision.

Results: I became competent in evaluating and treating patients with spinal cord injury, brain injury, and stroke and obtained 100% of providers caseload with supervision.

Year 1 Practice​

Upon graduation, I will work in outpatient pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

By year 1 of practice, I will work in a pediatric inpatient setting working to empower children and families to learn skills and provide meaning despite a traumatic event or injury.

By year 1 of practice, I will publish a retrospective review journal article on the CCHMC OTPT Transition Services: Thrive Program.

By year 1 of practice, I will run 1 occupational therapy transition group as a clinician on healthy lifestyles at CCHMC through the Thrive Program.
